PROFFESSIONAL COURSES OFFERED

l   Clinical Medicine

Certificate programs (NTA Level 4 & 5) in Clinical Medicine are typically two-year courses for Form Four leavers. They train students to become frontline healthcare assistants, providing foundational skills in patient care, basic medical procedures, and supporting clinical operations.

The Diploma in Clinical Medicine (NTA Level 6) is a comprehensive three-year program that produces Clinical Officers. Clinical Officers are skilled professionals qualified to diagnose, treat, and manage common medical conditions, perform minor surgeries, and provide emergency care.

The diploma includes extensive theoretical coursework and a six-month supervised clinical internship, preparing graduates for immediate employment in hospitals and health centers.

l   Pharmaceutical Sciences

Certificate level range from a one-year Basic Certificate for Medicine Dispensers to two-year programs for Pharmaceutical Assistants and Technicians. These focus on practical dispensing, patient counseling, and pharmacy operations.

The three-year Ordinary Diploma (NTA Level 6) provides a deeper scientific understanding of drug development, formulation, quality control, and management. Diploma graduates have a strong foundation for roles in retail, hospital, and industrial pharmacy, and this qualification is a standard entry requirement for bridging into a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree.

l  Diagnostic Radiography

Certificate programs (NTA Level 4 & 5) in Diagnostic Radiography are two-year courses that equip students with the core skills to operate basic radiographic equipment, such as X-ray machines. The training emphasizes patient safety, radiation protection, and image acquisition techniques.

The Ordinary Diploma (NTA Level 6) is often a one-year advanced program for those who hold a certificate. It covers more complex imaging modalities like Computed Tomography (CT), Ultrasound, and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), along with image interpretation and advanced patient management. Diploma holders are qualified as Diagnostic Radiographers, playing a critical role in medical diagnosis.

l  Social Work

Social Work certificates (NTA Level 4 & 5) prepare students for entry-level, supportive roles. Graduates work under the supervision of qualified social workers to address basic problems facing individuals, families, and small groups, focusing on enhancing social functioning.

The Ordinary Diploma (NTA Level 6) builds on this with intermediate knowledge and skills for more independent practice. The curriculum covers specialized areas like social work with children and youth, social policy, legal systems, and research methods. Diploma holders can engage more deeply with diverse populations and complex cases in communities, NGOs, and government agencies.
