OUR BRIEF HISTORY

Bwima Institute of Health and Allied Sciences (BWIHAS) formerly Victoria Institute of Health and Allied Sciences (VIHAS). The Institute, established since 2015, is located in Ilemela Municipality, Kabangaja Street, Mwanza Region. It is fully registered and  accreditated by NACTE with Registration number HAS/151 and recognised by  the Ministry of Health. We currently offer Clinical Medicine,  Pharmaceutical Sciences, Diagnostic Radiography and Social Work  at the level of Technician Certificate and Ordinary diploma.

In the very near future the institute has plans to expand the scope of training to other programmes including Nursing and Midwifery, Medical laboratory, Community Development.

We ensure that our graduates are equiped with the necessary knowledge and skills and that they are competitive in the East African health Industry market.

Location: Igombe, Ilemela - Mwanza, Tanzania

Our medical college is situated in Kabangaja street,at Igombe about a 12km drive from the city center, within the Ilemela District of Mwanza. For those traveling from Mwanza city center. We are very close to the shore of lake Victoria.

Igombe offers a quieter, community-focused environment that is conducive to academic life, while still maintaining good connectivity to the resources of Mwanza city.

Surrounding Area:

The college is located near several important landmarks, including Mwanza Airport, which is useful for international and long-distance travelers. The shores of Lake Victoria are also easily accessible, providing opportunities for recreation. The area is residential, with local markets and community services nearby.
